You simply start by visiting the old town centre and then continue with a guided tour exploring the area\u2019s historic and archaeological sites, such as the Roman quarries in Capo Testa, Cala Grande and the military defences. The Nuragic site of Lu Brandali and Longonsardo Tower, which looks out over the Strait of Bonifacio, are both open to the public.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is the local community doing to preserve the treasures of Santa Teresa Gallura?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A number of excavation campaigns have been funded by Santa Teresa Gallura\u2019s town council over the years, both at the Nuragic site and that of the Roman quarries. This has allowed the community to rediscover its origins. Above all, the Lu Brandali site has been opened to the public and therefore to visitors as well thanks to the work of many volunteers, the town council and the Department for Archaeological Heritage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exhibitions and museums: can children, the elderly and those with disabilities access them easily?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The \u2018Lu Brandali: Read Touch and Hear\u2019 touring exhibition of Nuragic archaeology was specially created to break down barriers and guarantee access to everyone, whether affected by disabilities or not. All the information was translated into Braille, and multimedia devices allow visitors to touch reproductions of the monuments (the huts and the Giants\u2019 Tomb) as well as listen to information in three languages.
