GALLURA BUSKERS FESTIVAL<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4248″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]For several days in July, Santa Teresa becomes the scene of enjoyment, art and excitement during one of the best street performance festivals around, an international event that features magicians, jugglers and acrobats from all over the world and amazes both young and old, transporting spectators to marvellous worlds that are poetic as well as entertaining.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

LU COIU \u2013 STAZZI AND CUSSOGGHJ<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4263″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]The Lu Coiu<\/em> is a unique chance to attend a traditional wedding. As well as the religious ceremony, Gallura\u2019s tradition features two main occasions: La Pricunta<\/em>, when the groom\u2019s family visits the house of the bride\u2019s family and asks for her hand in marriage, and Lu Bringhisi<\/em>, the toast which represents ancient rites and beliefs.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

PATRON SAINT\u2019S DAY<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4268″ primary_title=”” hover_title=”” align=”left”]Santa Teresa celebrates three patron saints: San Vittorio (14th<\/sup> October), Santa Teresa (15th<\/sup> October) and Sant\u2019Isidoro (16th<\/sup> October).

THE TOWN\u2019S FOUNDATION DAY, 12th AUGUST 1808<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4274″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]Santa Teresa was founded on 12th<\/sup> August 1808 by a decree issued by King Victor Emmanuel I, who wished to recreate a small version of Turin on Sardinia\u2019s northernmost point. Every year, the town\u2019s foundation is celebrated with historical reenactments, parades and traditional dances.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

FEAST OF SANTA REPARATA IN BUONCAMMINO<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4279″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]The second country festival takes place on the first weekend in September. After the religious service in the church of Santa Reparata (3 km from Santa Teresa), participants walk along the bay until they reach the church of Buoncammino, where a tripe dinner is served and the celebrations feature music and dancing.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

FEAST OF SANT\u2019ANTONIO IN BUONCAMMINO<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4284″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]A countryside event that attracts many people and takes place on the second weekend in June. SEA PROCESSION ON ASSUMPTION DAY<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4312″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]One of the summer\u2019s most popular events, with its own unique atmosphere, takes place on 15th<\/sup> August, Assumption Day. A procession starts out from the church of San Vittorio and reaches the port of Longonsardo. There it continues on boats towards the beach of Rena Bianca, where a wreath of flowers is thrown into the sea.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

SAPORI E SENSAZIONI SULLE BOCCHE<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4321″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]Festival of art, culture and cuisine<\/span><\/p>\n

In June, a fair is held in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele I featuring farm produce, arts and crafts during a three-day event that focuses on traditional cuisine and Sardinian culture. The event includes a food market, tastings and workshops as well as entertainment.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

ARMONIE NATURALI CONCERT<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4382″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]A concert is held at sunset during the summer season at the Capo Testa lighthouse, one of the area\u2019s most stunning locations. UN MARE DA AMARE - Blue Flag festival<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4372″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]Santa Teresa Gallura boasts four Blue Flag beaches that are celebrated every summer with an event that includes, art, entertainment and workshops for children. It\u2019s a special chance to get to know the beaches of Rena Bianca, Rena di Ponente, Rena di Levante and Santa Reparata.[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

THE TEATRI PEREGRINI FESTIVAL<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4366″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]The Officineperegrine theatre association has organised a festival in June that aims to foster an understanding of performance art and its constant practice by creating opportunities for artistic research and production, becoming a place and time for a beneficial exchange between individuals and collective communities (underprivileged, educational, minority, playful and social), promoting performance art as an expression of independence, awareness and openness.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces” gap=”5″ equal_height=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1581518067807{padding-top: 30px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

SILENT DISCO<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4361″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]A real music festival featuring DJ sets and live music, broadcast using wi-fi headphones. The music, chosen and played by DJs simultaneously on the RED \u2013 BLUE \u2013 GREEN channels, ranges from electronic to rock \u2019n roll, including everything from house music, roots reggae, dub, electroswing, balkan and revival. The event is organised by the Roerso Mondo cultural association.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

The P.A.S.S. BOOK FAIR<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4355″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]P.A.S.S. \u2013 the acronym for Produzioni Artistiche Sarde a Santa Teresa Gallura \u2013 presents a book fair featuring Sardinian authors, or writers with links to Sardinia, but with one eye on the rest of the world. The talks, which always take place in the evening, are held in Piazza del Sapere, the square where Grazia Deledda public library is located.<\/span>[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

I MONUMENTI INCONTRANO LA LETTURA<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4350″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]Writers, music and monuments, history and narrative meet in a travelling book fair that is one of a kind and starts in Santa Teresa, later moving on to other neighbouring towns. The event is notable for its focus on presenting books and articles that are suitable for readers of all ages, presentations that are held in impressive historic locations. \u2026CONTA LA MUSICA<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”4345″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]Under the starry sky of Piazza Santa Lucia, 2019 saw the first edition of an event dedicated to great musicians. Two evenings of quality music featured Oscar-winning composer Nicola Piovani and Avion Travel, a band well-loved by music critics. The event aims to continue attracting great musicians to the area, year after year.[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]

FANTASIE SONORE<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”5179″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]A classical music festival that normally takes place in September in the Nelson Mandela theatre and is organised by the Bernardo De Muro musical academy. TNatura CROSS TRIATHLON<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_hoverbox image=”5184″ primary_title=”” hover_title=””]A famous event that combines nature with a love of sports takes place in May.
