Trekking and hiking

Trekking and hiking lovers must try excursions by the coast and the sea in Santa Teresa Gallura’s area, within the protected marine area of Capo Testa – Punta Falcone and Sic area of Capo Testa that offer hiking trails suitable for both experts and beginners.

Among the most spectacular excursions we recommend:

1) Capo Testa, the promontory located in the extreme north of Sardinia. Among granite sculptures across the Mediterranean maquis and a sea of colors ranging from blue to crystalline green is well traced a circular path that, starting near the town, reaches Cala Grande (the famous Valley of the Moon) and the lighthouse that dominates the Strait of Bonifacio.

2) Punta Falcone area is the most northerly in Sardinia; it’s very striking becuse it has plenty of bunkers and military quarters hidden in the thick vegetation and which dates back from the 2nd World war.

3) It’s a urban route that starts from Piazza Vittorio emanuele I and San Vittorio Church; it goes through the Spanish Tower and Punta Bechi, carrying on Via Po, Santa Lucia Church until Longonsardo’s Harbour.

Different trails are both for adults and children, but it is always recommended the support of experienced guides.

This activity can be practised all year round, although the ideal time to organize a slow and relaxing holiday is in Spring or Autumn.
