Founded by King Victor Emmanuel I in 1808 and named after his wife, Maria Teresa of Austria, Santa Teresa is one of northern Sardinia’s most famous seaside towns. Its tourist port is one of the most important in the Gallura area and connects the island with nearby Corsica thanks to Santa Teresa – Bonifacio ferry routes.
